While the members of our team attend various churches in the area, we’re not a church group. We all believe in the power of prayer in our own lives, and would want to see it manifest in the lives of our neighbors across the area.

Winston-Salem Prays is open to Christian churches and individuals from all denominations. We are looking for as many members of the body of Christ to play a role in praying for our community.

Getting started is easy. It just takes commitment from the church or ministry leader and their members to pray one day each month. The leader can complete the form on our For Churches page to begin the process.

We are Jesus-followers. We come from different backgrounds, different denominations and different experiences, but our common belief that Jesus Christ is our Lord and Savior. The best representation of our statement of faith is contained in the Apostle’s Creed:

We believe in God, the Father,
who made heaven and earth.

We believe in Jesus Christ, God’s Son, our Lord.
He was conceived by the Holy Spirit
and born to the Virgin Mary.
He suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and was buried.
He truly died, and on the third day He rose again.
He returned to heaven
and sits with God the Father.
He will come again to judge all people.

We believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy Christian church,
the community of believers,
forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and life everlasting.

Yes, definitely. Active church attendance isn’t a requirement (although it’s a good way to participate and be part of the community). Engaging in prayer and prayer for our community — whether individually, in a small group or home church, or at a cathedral or mega-church — is a good thing that will make our community a better place.

Yes, we need people with a variety of skills to help administer this effort. If you’re interested in helping, reach out through our contact form.

No. You have the ability to schedule a prayer time that fits your schedule. You should select a time or times that you are sure that you can commit to being available to pray.

No church is too small. Every prayer is a blessing. Don’t let small numbers be a reason for not participating. Every person and every church that prays will be blessed.
