Getting Started: for Churches & Ministries
Learn how your church or ministry can join in the effort to cover our community in prayer
Imagine…
What if your church could be part of something remarkable, a continuous chain of prayer covering our entire city, every hour of every day? We’re inviting churches across our area to join Winston-Salem Prays in a movement of 24/7 prayer, where together we seek God for transformation and spiritual awakening in our community.
The Vision
Our vision is simple yet powerful: to unite individuals and churches across our city in unceasing prayer, creating a blanket of intercession that never stops. When churches come together in prayer—setting aside denominational differences and standing shoulder to shoulder—God moves in extraordinary ways.
How it Works: Simple. Sustainable. Powerful.
We’re inviting your church to adopt one day each month for continuous 24-hour prayer. Here’s how simple it is:
- CHOOSE A DAY – Your church selects one specific day of the month (for example, the 15th of every month or the 2nd Thursday of every month). We’ll create a sign up page, specific to your church and church members where individuals can schedule their prayer time
- ORGANIZE YOUR MEMBERS – Church members sign up for individual, recurring time slots throughout the 24-hour period
- START PRAYING – Members pray from wherever they are—at home, at church, at work—during their scheduled time
This Complements Your Church’s Ministry
We want to be clear: this initiative enhances what God is already doing in your church—it doesn’t replace it.
- It strengthens your prayer ministry by giving your congregation a focused, unified purpose
- It deepens your members’ prayer lives through regular, intentional intercession
- It connects your church to something larger than any single congregation
- It requires minimal leadership overhead while producing maximum spiritual impact
You remain in full control of how your church participates. You can pray in your building or from individual homes. You can organize special prayer gatherings or keep it simple. You can adapt the approach to fit your church’s culture and rhythm.
An Invitation
We are asking pastors and ministry leaders to prayerfully consider leading their congregations into this movement. Your leadership will inspire others and strengthen the collective witness of the Church in our city.
If you would like to learn more, explore practical resources, or ask questions about how to organize your day of prayer, we welcome the opportunity to connect with you. This isn’t a newsletter sign up or an email marketing list. A member of our leadership team will contact you directly with information on getting you signed up and onboarded.
We look forward to you joining us and helping to cover our community in prayer by partnering in this initiative.
